Professional Biography: Jonathan Evans is a seasoned leader, coach, and advocate for high-performing teams with over 20 years of experience. His coaching journey began not in a corporate office but in a BioTech lab at the University of Waterloo, later transitioning to outdoor leadership, where he guided executives and teams through trust-building and leadership challenges on ropes courses.
Jonathan’s most profound lessons emerged during his time leading an NGO in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, one of Canada’s most complex and challenged neighbourhoods. There, he witnessed the resilience and potential hidden beneath systemic barriers, a truth that continues to inspire his work. For his contributions in community development and education, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Today, Jonathan serves as an Indigenous Advisor and Coach, blending his lived experiences, formal training, and research to develop an Indigenous narrative coaching framework. This framework weaves together Wisdom, Awareness, Yielding, and Strengthening to empower leaders to craft their unique journeys.
With two MAs in Leadership and Organizational Development, a CPCM, a PMP, and an EDI certificate from UBC, Jonathan brings a holistic, culturally aware approach to his practice.
