President’s Message

Hello Everyone!

We feel the summer energy coming on and excitement for stepping away from the “norm” to ground in our own selves. As we are stepping into vacation mode as a Board, we are also planning for the Fall with our upcoming AGM and open board roles.

I want to share that this experience serving the community has been rewarding. The interactions with you all have been the most fulfilling. I hope you know that we are here to continue to support this professional coaching community the best way possible and always show up as our best.

All the best for an enjoyable long weekend!

Upcoming ICF Global Chapter Events

  • Race Matters in Coaching

    • Host chapter: ICF Washington State

      Date: August 1, 2023 | Time: 12:00 PST

      Cost: $15-33 USD

    • This mini-workshop intends to raise awareness about obstacles that keep us from having meaningful race-related conversations in coaching spaces. The workshop offers an introduction to strategies and an opportunity to engage in dialogue with the aim of increasing equity and inclusion in the coaching community. You will leave this workshop with a better awareness of what stops you from engaging in conversations about race, equity, inclusion, and related topics. The outcome of this workshop will be a beginning awareness of what stops you from speaking so that you can make more conscious choices about where and how you want to have conversations about race, diversity, and the like. We aim to support self-exploration that lays the foundation for transformative change.

  • The Neuroscience of Transformation

    • Host chapter: ICF Upstate New York

      Date: September 12, 2023

      Time: 9:00 PST

      Cost: Free

    • When combined with a strong foundation of Traditional coaching models, Neuroscience-based change models allow us to design approaches to better support our clients in ways neither type can access alone. For example, this combination allows us to successfully support people even if they struggle to be introspective or reflective and allows us to empower people who struggle to sustain change. Adding models like Unlearning, Memory Reconsolidation, Explicit vs. Implicit Systems, and Neural Integration (among others) to a traditional coaching foundation allows coaches to overcome obstacles in a more informed, effective, and intentional manner. This session is a high-level introduction to different neuroscience-based models and where they can be best applied in a coaching process (please note that this is a 90 minute application-oriented introduction and as an introduction, it will not offer an in-depth mastery of any one particular model).
